At the heart of the struggle against cancer, the Val de Marne Department is a pole of excellence for medical research based on an important concentration of training and research structures, numerous hospitals (2 of which are University Hospitals) and companies that are leaders in the field.
The Departmental Council has set in motion a dynamic policy of support for the development of research and medical innovation.
The Cancer Campus initiative is part of the ambition to see this potential and this policy benefit the population and the territory’s development to a greater extent, and to see the Val de Marne Department become by the year 2020 the first French department (after Paris) in the area of health, medical and pharmaceutical research.
