Society is changing its view of disease; patients and relatives are demanding a better quality of life, more comprehensive information and a voice so that they can play a role in managing cancer. Patients are becoming experts in what belongs to them alone, namely the disease and the disruption it causes. Their personal experience turns them into stakeholders and "autonomous individuals".
In creating the Patient Resource Centre, Cancer Campus® hopes to anticipate and address these expectations and put forward suggestions for changes in care. By encouraging innovative action, the Centre will provide solutions for better support during and after cancer. Among the Centre's partners are the Ligue Nationale Contre le Cancer (French anti-cancer league) and the French National Cancer Institute (INCA).
